Cloud Inversion

Mist shrouds Penicuik but the Pentland hills jut out of the inversion at about 10pm this evening. I did not have a tripod in the boot and used ISO 1600 on the D800 + 28mm/2.8

River Tweed Canoeing

A pair of canoeists head upstream from Manor Bridge on the River Tweed. In the shallow waters, as the temperasture hit 28°C, they had to pick a deep channel to maintain motion.

Cooling Off

As the mercury hit 28° Centigrade a dad and his son cool off in Peebles' River Tweed. The duo found they had to paddle at times to gain headway as the water was too shallow to float thier inflated tractor inner tube.

Hay Bales

Freshly cut and baled hay in a field near Eddleston photographed with a short telephoto lens. We took a breather from the heat (26 degrees centigrade) on a drive back from Edinburgh. At this point in the lane there are overhanging trees creating deep shade. We enjoyed a flask of coffee and Rich Tea biscuits! Earlier int he day we had visited a number of bicycle shops hunting for a new bike for Geraldine. We also enjoyed lunch on the corner at Cafe Artista in Marchmont, great pizzas.
