So for the weekend I am taking one of the perks of the job to have a play around with a rental XPan. Now I know two owners of these superb panoramic cameras, at the risk of sounding elitist, neither is a professional photographer, although one is a serious semi-pro. Both seem to use if for landscapes.
As the fair is in town for Peebles' Beltane festival I am going to try some late dusk motion panoramics, long exposures, you'll have seen the stuff in photo magazines, at the night-time lecture on my courses or on this site tomorrow.
One advantage is that I'll check out my exposures with the D100 before proceeding to the Xpan and blowing film!
Even at staff discount film is still more costly than its digital cousin particularly with this camera as i will get it processed by Peak Imaging at £20.16 a roll! + £6.50 for a CD.
Wait for the results - maybe I'll have to eat my words and this page.
